My photography career began with a wonderful photography professor during my high school years. I was hand selected into the Freshman photography class, and it opened my eyes to a whole different world. I was awarded with experiences such as hanging a show in the local Carnegie Arts center, countless hours of darkroom and composition work and portfolio presentations for college.

After portfolio submissions and a personal interview at the Colorado Institute of Art, I was awarded a full tuition scholarship for their commercial photography program. I majored in high fashion/model photography with a minor field in architectural photography. Upon completion of the program, and total burn out, I decided that photography may not be for me. Instead of moving to New York to work as an underpaid photography assistant, I retired my camera. And having always wanted to see Seattle, I decided to move there.

Prior to the birth of my first born, I realized that I didn’t even own a camera to take pictures of her. Having a love of old, finer things, I rushed out and purchased a Leica camera for this very purpose. After a year of falling back in love with photography, I decided that I should share my love with others. Who knew during those long days in college that I would someday have a passion for photography that wasn’t on the pages of Vogue? The emotion I now capture is entirely more meaningful than the empty stares and stern faces of the fashion world. Seeing a mother holding back tears upon viewing an image of her baby, or a bride's face in awe at seeing her first kiss with her new husband is entirely more rewarding. I hope someday soon to have the opportunity to capture some of your emotion through my lens too. Thank you for visiting.
